As a man, how often do you feel that you are receiving too much attention from your significant other? Perhaps they are always calling or texting every half hour, reminding you that they love you or even letting you know that you are on their mind.
Does this bother you?
Do you find that you are annoyed by the onslaught of attention and more so when you only left them a few hours ago? Maybe your significant other takes it a step further, follows up the messages and calls with a visit to your job so the two of you can have lunch for the next hour or so.
In the eyes of some, they find this to be unnecessary but what is interesting is how we as men react when all of this comes to a complete hault at our request. When the chase initially started, the willingness to say or do just about anything was at the forefront. We had actions to equally support every word spoken, all so we could have this person in our lives. Though a chance was taken on us; the failure to keep such a flame burning is slowly becoming our demise.
Maybe during the chase, this person pitched to us that they were not looking for a relationship but ONLY someone to have a good time with and feel comfortable around. If it went anywhere from that point so be it but if nothing came of it, no hard feelings and at least a new friend was made. Now that our foot was in the door; the only thing needed was some patience and everything would come together as you had anticipated.
The weeks turned into months, more time was spent between you both. Who better to share tomorrow with than the individual that took a chance on love with YOU? An investment of feelings was locked in, you find yourself “doing your part” to keep the relationship afloat. Your significant other was still skeptical of your intentions; so your only objective was to set their mind at ease by letting them know that you had no plans on changing and everything was going to be JUST FINE.
Fast Forward to the present….
Did you just receive another text message that read, “I love and or miss you” and if so, how did you react? Was it a (deep sigh) followed by you placing the phone down without a response; or were you excited as you were months or even YEARS ago to receive this message?
If you are receiving ANY form of a reminder which states your importance, cherish these moments. Once you burn that bridge, you will miss the days when LOVE was so easily accessible.
